JP turned 5 last Friday! He wanted to go bowling, the park and Mcdonalds. So that's what we did. He got the second highest score bowling...a 72! We are so blessed to have such an energetic, thoughtful, and lovable kid!

Last month we had a super slip and slide and water balloon day. It was lots of fun going down the ghetto slip 'n slide that the guys made out of tarp. We used soap too so that we were able to go faster down the slope.

We have told our kids about Popeye the Sailor man who gets his strength from eating spinach. They have actually never seen any Popeye cartoons, but one day this funny story happened. So JP wore this shirt and after a brief examination he asked me, "Mom, if Popeye is so healthy eating spinach, then why does he smoke? Isn't smoking bad for you?" It never really donned on me that Popeye had a pipe. I had no idea how to answer him, so I told him he was right! It's neat how he saw it and I didn't even realize it myself.

Since my husband has was off on Friday, we decided to go to the beach for our family day. Plus it has been so so hot here we all needed a relief from the heat! We bought some snacks to eat and we enjoyed the nice cool beach weather. It was Jet's first time at the beach too. You can see he had lots of fun looking and drooling around!

Visit with Grandma Remy

We are blessed and fortunate to still have Grandma Remy alive and healthy. She is just one of the kids great grandparents. We met with Grandma, aunty Rose, and Rochelle at a Filipino restaurant. It was yummy! We got to visit with them a few weeks ago. Thanks for taking us there guys! You guys need to come out to the valley and hang out with us sometime.

We went to my father-in-laws for the 4th of July. We were able to help them paint their house which the kids really enjoyed. I think they got more paint on the sidewalk then they did the house! It was also Dad and Tracey's wedding anniversary. Happy Anniversary to you both! May the Lord give you many more wonderful and blessed years together!

New Addition to the Walton Family!

Today the Walton Family took home their new baby girl! They were blessed to adopt 6 week old Elisabeth Marie. The paperwork will take about 6 months to finalize, but they are confident that all will go smoothly. Because the adoption took place in San Diego, they were able to stop by for a little while to show us their beautiful new baby before they headed home. Please keep them in your prayers as they take on a newborn and a new adventure of having a girl!

Don't ask me where I got it (from my sister's closet)... It's actually a helmet for the boys' heads so that they will be ready to do battle witht their older siblings! Helps against accidental sitting on the head and hits and bumps throughout the day!

My hubby had his birthday on June 3rd so we celebrated by going out to his favorite Asian buffet with my sister and her family. The waitresses sang "Happy Birthday" to him and even brought out a cute little cake. My favorite part of the cake were the grapes shaped like bunnies.

We were truly blessed to have some friends over for dinner. The Ruiz family, Pastor Rick, and the Mizes were able to stop by and hang out with us a few weeks ago. It was so awesome to talk with them about missions and catch up on their lives. We were really encouraged by them and went want them to know that we are very grateful for their insight, wisdom, and most of all friendship! We love you guys, thanks for chilin' with us!

My brother-in-law, Nate and his beautiful pregnant wife, Michelle, came over with my super smart nephew, Nico last week. Here are a few pictures of their stay with us. Poor Nico had an ear infection and also got an allergic reaction to the medicine he got. I think it was a devine appointment for them to stay longer, plus the whole Swine Flu going around. The Lord was just preventing them to have to deal with airports and sickos so they just drove back to Oregon. Although, Nico was sick the kids had fun playing together. Prayerfully the next time we see them it will be because they have moved to SoCal!

Resurrection Rolls

One of our family traditions at our house are the Resurrection Rolls. We take a marshmallow which represents Jesus' body and roll it in melted butter (oil that was poured on Jesus). Then we roll the buttered marshmallow in cinnamon and sugar to represent the spices that were used before His burial. We then wrapped the marshmallow in a triangle crescent dough which signified the tomb that Jesus was buried in. After baking the rolls we find the marshmallow is no longer there, because Jesus conquered sin and death!

Hallelujah! The tomb is empty! "He is not here; for He is risen, just as He said. Come see the placee where he lay." -Mathew 28:6

On Saturday was my baby shower that Cathy, Tiffany, Lisa, and my sisters threw for me. I had so much fun! It was like a mini reunion too. The theme was underwater sea creatures. We had lots of yummy food as always, fellowship, and games (even one for the boys too). Thank you girls so much for all the time, money, and energy you spent on my shower! We loved it and had so much fun!

First Days Home

So Val and I were peregnant together. She was due 2 weeks after me. The night I was in labor, she joked and said that it would be funny if we had our babies on the same day. Well she actually had her baby just 3 days after I did. She labored for 24 hours, but praise God, he is healthy! Joe and Val named him Joshiro Luke. He was born at 6:51 pm. He was 7 lbs and 3 oz. He weighed the same as Jet and was 18 and 1/2 inches long. Since they were only a few days apart, the dads decided to have a joint 1st birthday party with "Star Wars" as the theme. So it will be Joshiro Luke Skywalker and Master JEDIdiah Terrence.

During our first days home we had some special visitors come to meet baby Jet. My mom, brother, and my aunt and her family, Dad and Tracey, and also some friends from church dropped by to see the new addition to our family. It was great to have some company over to especially the ones that brought food! Thanks a bunch!

39 weeks!

Here I still am... As of Monday, I am 39 weeks! I honestly didn't think I'd make it this far. Last week Thursday, the doctor said I was dialated 2 cm, but nothing's happening. I still feel good and have lots of energy! Getting huge too! Who knows might be tonight or this baby may be a March baby!
My guess was the 18th of Feb, which came and went. Gen said on Gracie's b-day, Val's guess was this past weekend, Papa Joe says this Thursday. Hubby thinks the baby will come next week on the 4th. Leave a comment and tell us what day you think the baby will come and even the gender of the baby :)

Gracie's 2nd Birthday!

Today was Gracie's 2nd birthday! She got to open one of her first present this afternoon. Mommy and Daddy got her a baby stroller. She put her baby in it right away. Later that night, we took her out to Chuck E. Cheese. Needless to say, she was not the best of friends with Mr. Chuck E. When we first got there, she was so excited she jumped out of her carseat when we unbuckled her. Then, when we got inside she was so scared that she wouldn't let go of Daddy, she burried her face in her Daddy's chest. She had fun playing games and riding the rides. Gen made her purse cake too, it was so yummy! Thank you all for the wonderful gifts you blessed her with!

This past weekend was Valentine's Day and also our 8 year anniversary! Praise the Lord, we were able to celebrate outside the hospital! We had some babysitters for a few hours during the day while Niel and I went to Old town Temecula, walked around, and had some Startbucks. Then later that evening we planned to go tothe movies and Red Lobster because our friends blessed us with a gift card. However, I forgot the gift card, but we wanted to see how long the wait was anyway. It ended up being a 1 and a half hour wait, so we scratched the dinner idea because we had such a big lunch (we'll save it for another day). We ended up going to the movies instead. God's been so good and we thank Him for blessing our marriage throughout these eight years!

Surprise Baby Shower

On Wednesday night, the Jr. High leaders and the youth girls threw me a little surprise baby shower. They even made cupcakes. I was really blessed! It's funny because all the youth leaders except one is pregnant too.

37 weeks and My Birthday!

On Monday was 37 weeks of my pregnancy and also the 6th year anniversarry of my 23rd birthday! My sweet husband made me breakfast in bed. The kids saw it and ate about 1/4 of it, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Gen made me a marble cake (my favorite) from scratch. Then Niel took me out to dinner that night. God is good, I had a great birthday!

This weekend my niece celebrated her 1st birthday. True to Filipino tradition, her parents had to throw her a birthday party. The theme was Tinkerbell. She was so cute dresses in her Tinkerbell outfit! As always, when there's a praty there's lots of yummy food. There was so much food left over that we are still enjoying it this week. Lucky for me, no cooking!

As some of you know, my sister, Val and I are pregnant together. She is due 2 weeks after me, so I decided to throw her a baby shower last weekend before I have my baby :) It was so much fun! I found some new games online. One of my favorites was pin the pacifier on the baby. It was fun to watch the ladies get spun around and try to find the baby's mouth while blindfolded. Oh, and the food was good too! I made her shower cake. I tried to go with the train theme. Gen drew all the banners and did the games too. She was great help!

Orpilla Bed and Breakfast

Last weekend our friends from Okinawa, Lisa and Jeremy, were able to drive down from 29 Palms and stay at the "Orpilla Bed and Breakfast" for a night. We stayed up playing our favorite game, Scattegories. They seemed to like it as much as we did! They were celebrating their anniversary and had a babysitter for the weekend. They got to watch Phantom of the Opera in Hollywood the next night. It was so awesome to have some good friends over for fellowship. Happy Anniversary guys!

Velardes renew their vows

Our friends, Damian and Sandra renewed their vows for their 7 year anniversary while they were here from England during the missions confrence. It was a sweet little wedding at the chapel on the campus of the Bible College. I cried most of the ceremony. It was a great reminder of why God put a man and woman together to be one. My friends are a great example of what God intended marriage to be! We pray that God would give them many more wonderful years together and that they would grow closer as they do ministry side by side!

'Twas the night before Christmas and at aunt Lilian's house were two steps that my son fell on.

This was the fvery first ER visit JP has had in his four years of life and he made it very memorable because it happened on Christmas Eve! Despite the inital screaming, JP did very well and stopped crying in the car on the way to the hospital. The Doctor gave us the option of stitches or glue. We chose to have him glued back together. When we got there it only took about 15 minutes before they saw us and our stay from start to finish was only an hour. We were praying for a quick trip to the ER and God was faithful to answer that prayer!

12 Days of Cookies

This year I wanted to do something fun and start a new tradition with my little ones. So I thought I would borrow my good friend's idea and make cookies leading up to Christmas. Sandra, does this every Christmas with her little ones and I thought it was a great idea. Since she is such a great cook, I should really ask her for her recipes, but I just found some online to make. Today, we made Candy Cane cookies. As you can see, Gracie didn't have an apron, so I tied a kitchen towel around her neck so she wouldn't feel left out. It got the job done!

Monday Night Football

We have been having Zach and his Bible College friends over every Monday night for football. They do not have tv's in their dorms so they come over, eat, hang out, and best of all watch football! We enjoyed having them over and we pray these guys would have an awesome next semester wherever they may go.

Last weekend we helped set up Val and Joe's Christmas tree. They went to a tree farm and picked out the tree they wanted and was able to cut it down too! They picked out a 9 foot tree! We weren't sure if Joe had more fun decorating than the kids. He had to put the ornaments up in a "specific, but random" order. In other words, the ornaments could not be level with each other or too close. Val and I thought it was so funny! It was hilarious to watch him decorate his tree!

Here are some pictures of our Thanksgiving at my father-in-law's sports bar. We were so blessed to have my sister, Anj, come down from northern Cali to spend time with us as well as the rest of the family that are here.

We ate to our hearts content and were so stuffed by the time dinner came around. Aunty Rose even made some Filipino food (Penakbet) to accompany the turkey and stuffing! Yummy!

Learning about Thanksgiving

We are learning about Thanksgiving this week and I decided to have them do crafts. JP is Squanto, the Native American who helped the Pilgrims and taught them how to survive in the new world. And Gracie is his beautiful sidekick! You should read more on Squanto and how God worked in his life prior to the Pilgrims coming.

Creativity for the Harvest Carnival

We took JP and Grace C. to our church's harvest festival a few days ago. I didn't intend on dressing them up, but Vanessa and Gen found a few things laying around the house and made these costumes. We did buy posterboard, but we didn't really need it. Gen did all the artistic work except for the red lines on the straw. My beautiful wife is responsible for the beautiful red lines. Pretty creative costumes, eh?!

JP's B-day and Daddy's Surprises

Two weeks ago we celebrated JP's fourth b-day. To our dismay we found out that we didn't have enough b-day candles. We just had two singles and two number two candles, so we got a little creative. It worked out pretty well. It turned out we had enough candles after all, and with JP being older, he also got a little math lesson.

2 + 2 = 4

That same day, JP wasn't the only one who got a surprise, but daddy got two surprises; a J-O-B and a little car trouble. Niel got the job just in time too, because after he accepted the job, he jumped into his car and it didn't start! He ended up staying in the parking lot for the AAA guys. A little embarassing, but it's times like these you know God is there... God provided us a great family, a car [that can be fixed], and a job [to get the car fixed]. Thank all for your prayers and support!

Day at the Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Pumpkin patch in Temecula today. The kids got to pet some farm animals at the petting zoo. Grace and JP did not like feeding the animals out of their hands. We thought it would be a nice autumn day, but it felt more like summer with 96 degree weather. Overall, we had a great time finding pumpkins.

oki blessings

last week some of our oki friends blessed us with a visit. they are missionaries in okinawa for those who don't know. ms. joanna came out for a pastor's wives' conference and it was at the calvary chapel bible college that her son, zach, goes to. the rest of the familia didn't make it out, but maybe we'll see them this winter...

they not only blessed us with a visit, but with "goma" salad dressing. goma means "liquid gold" in japanese or least that what it means in my house because it's that precious. we discovered this dressing in japan and always asked our friends to mail or bring some when they come back to the states.

so this is the pic of the "liquid gold". the one on the left, which came from oki, was actually cheaper than the one on the right, which came from hawaii courtesy of my brother. we love the dressing so much that we have been searching high and low for it and asking everybody. the only places we found it was hawaii and okinawa. so if anybody in so cal knows where to get the "goma" please drop us a line.

Can you hide anything from GOD?!

Last week, JP got some candy for dessert after lunch. He wanted to keep the rest for the next day and he asked me, "Where can I hide this where God can't see it?" I was shocked at first, and told him that he could not hide anything from God because God can see everything. I then asked him why he wanted to hide the candy. JP's response, "Because He might eat it all!"

What is the moral to the story?
A. Eat all your candy quickly.
B. Kids say the darndest things.
C. You can't hide ANYTHING from GOD!
D. All of the above.
